Hello,

I have recently obtained a programming lead for the TX3400 & TX4400 radios, and programming software for each radio. I have been able to extract the settings from the TX3400, modify and send them back to the radio. This was successful, however, when I tried using the same lead and the correct software for the TX4400, all I get is a message stating the software

'Failed while trying to get radio into read program mode'

Has anyone else experienced this problem? If I use the software from the TX3400 & try to connect to the TX4400, the word prog comes up on the radio display. Obviously it all falls apart after that (wrong software vs radio) but at least it show the hardware is working. Any ideas if there is a different version of the programming software available? I currently have version DS0020.1.00 & the radio serial number is 41063296.

Hi Road Hammer, I have the same problem trying to program my tx4400, I belive that the 4400 programming software will NOT run with windows XP where all the other programs will. You can do a dual boot with windows 95/98 and it will work. I found it easier just to program the tx 4400 manualy through the face. The directions are in the manual. (Downloadable Here). Good Luck:smile: Jono

Jono,
Thanks for the info. I had suspected as much (we have the same issue at work with some of our protection relays) but wanted to see if anyone else had experienced the same.

I want to change the selcall ID of the radio so I'll have to perservere I'm afraid!

Cheers.
