The power on welcoming message can be re-edited via the dealer set mode.Basically the advantage being that you do not have to clone with your computer to edit it.Enter the dealer region.Press the [PO] or [P1] key to scroll the menu for a text indication of "COMMON". This 'COMMON' will be shown on your IC-F2010 display in bold uppercase letters.

Leave this word of 'COMMON' visible on radio screen .Now push the channel up or down button to locate the power on comment editing section. This re-editing section will be positioned exactly between 'EMR OFF' and 'COMMON'.When you scroll with channel up or down buttons there will be indications of 'PRA' 'PRB' and 'EMR OFF'.

PRA, PRB are priority channels A and B which can be re-assigned to any channel. 'EMR OFF' means that your emergency answer back call channel has been disabled.Scroll with the channel up or down buttons to the power on message editing location.

The welcome text can also be entered in the clone application.I will submit an explanatory sequence of how it is located in the dealer mode. 'EMR OFF' > ICOM INC >' COMMON' If there has been no text entered it will appear as 'EMR OFF' >[ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _] > 'COMMON'.

The eight underscore dashes inside brackets is my way of indicating where the re-edit section will be positioned.Press the [P3] key and the first dash or letter will blink. While it is blinking push your channel up or down key to choose a alphanumeric character. There is a selection of numbers, symbols, uppercase and lowercase letters.

Push [P3] and your chosen character will be entered automatically. Now the second letter or dash will blink. While it blinks choose a alphanumeric with your channel up or down keys. When it is selected press [P3] key and it is entered automatically.

Continue editing with this procedure for the" power on welcome comment" while in dealer set mode. This process will be effective after you exit the dealer mode and power off then power on again. There will be a new power on welcome message. Obviously the limit will be eight alphanumerics or characters.
