You can edit text for the selcall tx channel codes in dealer set mode.Enter dealer mode. Now press [PO] or [P1] key until there is an indication of 'Tx ch 01'. I would like to edit the text of "STATION" for 'Tx ch 29'. Push [P3] key and digit of '01' blinks. The text of 'Tx ch ' will remain steady. While the '01' is blinking i scroll with the channel up or down buttons to select the number ' 29 '. Now the [P3] key is pushed and number ' 29 ' remains steady.

Radio screen will be indicated as ' Tx ch 29 '. I push channel down key and there will be this sequence"Tx ch 29 " > "@ *E * E *" > " _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _".Do not confuse the selcall edit section with the alphanumeric editing section. The selcall edit region will be specifically designated with an abstract symbol at extreme left of display. If you have no text entered via software the dealer text edit section will be indicated as eight underscore dashes. This text entry area will be obvious with the abstract symbol not shown.

Also the eight dashes represent that a IC-F2010 has an eight character limit. So from 'Tx ch 29 ' i scroll down with channel button and go past " @ *E * E *" until eight underscore dashes appear on screen as "_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _".I push the [P3] key and first dash blinks. You have a choice of numbers, uppercase, lowercase letters and abstract symbols to select from.

Have pushed [P3] and while first dash blinks i press channel up or down key to make a selection.Have chosen uppercase letter of 'S'. I press [P3] and the 'S' is edited automatically. Now the second dash blinks.Have pushed channel up or down key to select letter of 'T'. Push [P3] key and the letter of 'T' is edited automatically.

Obviously i continue the editing procedure until text of "STATION" is entered. To exit this alphanumeric edit section just push channel up/down buttons for an indication of 'Tx ch 29'.Then i power off.All 32 selcall tx channel codes can have text assigned to them in the dealer set mode.
