I will submit an explanation of dealer set mode adjustments.Have left my handset as factory default. Some re-configuration was done in the CS-F3020 application but nothing too involved as yet.Did not customize the Icom default of 159357 in software because i am comfortable with it.
Press hash[#] and [PO] both in together and power on with volume dial.DEALER shows on display.Enter 159357 as [P1] [PO] down channel button [P3] [PO] [P2] on the programmable assign keys. Also there is another entry directly on my numbered keypad. For convenience i enter 159357 via the number keypad.
SET MODE appears. Now push [PO] or [P1] key."Set Mode" is omitted and i am fully in the "Dealer set mode" region of handset.First indication is '1 CHOO1'. The '1' at left side of text represents the scan bank channel is in.Text of 'CH' remains intact. The 'OO1' is an operational status. If i press [P2] this will be indicated '1 CHOO 1*'. The asterix signifies channel inhibit.Push [P2] to omit asterix.
Pushing on my [P3] key enables the channel selection. 'OO1' will blink.I scroll with the channel up or down buttons while 'OO1' blinks to select 'O27'.Press [P3] and channel number is steady and appears as ' 1 CHO27'.I can select items with channel up or down key.To avoid confusion my channel 27 is actually channel 19 because of the repeater and simplex channels set up in software.
I scroll with channel down key beginning from '1 CHO27' Next indication is 'CH 19 '. Now this 'CH 19' is the actual alphanumeric character editing section.Press [P3] and the 'C' blinks. While it blinks push channel up/down keys to select a choice of uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers and symbols.Push [P3] and the selected item will be edited automatically. Now the 'H' blinks.Use the channel keys to select a preference.Push [P3] to confirm it.I continue the previous editing procedure to re-edit the channel text.
Changed my plan and will leave it as the original 'CH 19 '.As i press [P3] the underscore blinking dash will scroll across the display.Scroll with channel down key and next item is shown as 'TC OFF' This is the Ctcss tone set up section.Push [P2] key to enable it. 'TC 67.0' is indicated.Press [P3] and '67.0' blinks. While it blinks push channel down/up keys to choose a ctcss tone. For example i chose '254.1'.
Have pushed [P3] and display appears as 'TC 254.1'. This means that i adjusted the transmit ctcss tone.Do not require it.To cancel this parameter will push on [P2] key. Now 'TC OFF' is shown.Scroll to next function with channel down button. This section is the receive ctcss tone adjustment. The indication will be 'RC OFF'. Push [P2] and 'RC 67.0' appears.Press [P3] for tone number to blink.Select a tone digit with channel keys.Push [P3] to enter it.
To cancel the receive ctcss tone press [P2] and 'RC OFF' is shown. The next items are transmit and receive direct edit of frequencies. My apology but i am tired and will conclude this message but it will be re-titled as an update. The direct edit of receive and transmit frequencies will be explained in the next posting.Henceforth most of the IC-F4023T dealer set mode adjustments have been covered.
