In a previous message i disabled repeater three from being scanned in 'LIST 01' or 'SCAN 1'.To enable or disable a channel for scanning it must be done "While the channel digit is blinking".So in dealer mode i scrolled with channel button to '03 ON'. Pushed upon [P3] key and '03' blinks. While the 03 is blinking i press on [P2] key. '03 OFF' appears.Now i push [P3] to stop the channel number blinking.
Have decided to include repeater channel three for scanning.I press [P3] and '03' starts flashing.While the channel digit blinks i push on the [P2] key.In dealer mode the F2010 screen appears as '03 ON'.Now the [P3] key is pressed so that '03' remains steady.Exit dealer mode and power off.Power on again and select 'SCAN 1'.The duplex channel three has now been included for scanning.
Obviously [P2] and [P3] are programmable assign keys.On the F2010 they will be specifically designated as such.The program keys of [P0] [P1] [P2] [P3] are directly under radio screen.Channel up and down buttons are well defined and will be depicted with up and down arrows.
All of the functions in dealer area are adjusted by using programmable assign keys in conjunction with your channel up & down buttons.
Please keep in mind that a "Procedure" has to be used.There is nothing complex about it.So henceforth push [P3] and channel digit blinks.As it blinks press on [P2] to cancel it as in 'OFF' or enable it for 'ON'.Push on [P3] again to confirm the operational status.The channel digit remains steady.After your choice of OFF or ON it is important to push [P3] to stop channel digit blinking so that it is operational.
If the procedure has been done accurately the results will be noticed when you next power on.The channel will be included when scanning any of the banks.By the same token your channel will be absent while in scan mode.
Please remember that all ten scan banks can be reconfigured in the IC-F2010 dealer set mode.I will continue this function in a separate posting.Will describe how to re-assign a channel from another bank and re-allocate it to a separate scan bank.
