The initial set mode of radio is where further adjustments can be performed. To use the signal meter this separate mode has to be activated.Display lighting of dim or bright is selectable.Text contrast is adjustable.Squelch and AF(minimum listening level) is configured.
Power on beep level volume can be linked to volume dial or as independent.Microphone gain as in maximum voice deviation is selectable.CTCSS and DTCSS tone deviation are adjustable. The RF transmit power levels for LOW1 LOW2 or HIGH are selectable.
The signal meter for very obvious reasons can not be re-configured in initial set mode.Relative field strength of another modulating station will be indicated as asterixes.Full scale will be shown as eight of these asterixes as in * * * * * * * *.Your field strength meter will be set mode item number five.
The digit of '5' will appear on top left hand corner of display in your "Initial set mode".The symbols will either be steady or maybe flickering. This depends on certain factors.
