The IC-F2010 signal meter is accessed via the initial set mode.Press the [PO] key to scroll set mode items so that digit of 5 is indicated.Have number '5' appear on top left corner of display.Your signal strength will be represented as a row of asterixes.Full scale is shown as eight asterix symbols.
The symbols will adjust accordingly depending on a variation of factors.Your F2010 signal meter will look basically similar to the asterix on a computer keyboard.For example full strength will appear on transceiver screen as * * * * * * * *.
So henceforth set mode number five is where the received signal level will be shown on your display.This asterix signal presentation seems to be unique and exclusive for the Icom F1000 series.Have not observed any other radio manufacturer using this type of signal presentation.
