I do not currently own this model as it has been sold.Operated it for about two years.Purchased the F410 as new and with warranty. All buttons are backlit. The set mode has plenty of versatility.Obviously this depends on how you configure the clone software. This transceiver can not be remote head installed. Not being able to remote it is not a disadvantage.

The compact sleek dimensions allow for an easy install. An IC-F410 is petite in size but do not be fooled by this.It has a substanstial heat sink.Received audio can be heard loud and clear via courtesy of the top chassis mounted speaker.Transceiver has 32 channels and no signal meter.

Some people may feel dubious about purchasing this model because of reduced functionality.During my time with the IC-F410 the lack of signal meter and only 32 channels did not stress me out.Icom restricted the frequency coverage on this model.

An IC-F410 can be very deceptive.Do not underestimate this model just because of diminished features. It's compact size is quite misleading also.My transceiver was a very capable performer at long distance communication.I have done most long range contacts with the IC-F2010.Only experienced a few distant transmits with the 410 and it was quite a pleasant surprise.

Dealer set mode on a IC-F410 has only the barest essentials.Ctcss and Dtcs tones are selectable in dealer mode.Wide or narrow band can be enabled.Receive and transmit frequencies can be edited via the front panel program assign keys.
