Will submit further postings in the reviews forum when time permits it.I have not posted reviews on my previously owned radios as in IC40GX. IC-40S. IC-R10 (Handset receiver) IC-F40GT (Commercial radio handset).IC-F610.IC-F2010 wide band only(Remote head).Recently purchased a new IC-F2010 wide/narrow band.
Currently owned radios that i will post reviews on are the IC-208H dual bander. IC-F2010 wide/narrow band model. IC-T90A amateur handset.
I have my sights focused on a new commercial. Will be purchasing it when timing presents itself as being opportune and practical.Every square inch of my SUV offroader vehicle cabin interior was given a thorough examination. For practical reasons i will have to remote head the new model transceiver.
There are two separate areas on my console where the remote head and corresponding bracket will fit.In between the console bin and automatic floorshift will be a breeze.Ideally i would like to fit the remote in a section that is in front of the auto tranny and just below my climate control.Do not smoke in the car.The usual cigarette lighter socket has been modified. In its place is a toggle switch for the spotlights.
How does he turn his spotlights on?Obviously with the toggle switch. Now you see it and now thee can not see it.So basically on top of the ashtray and former lighter plug is a snazzy looking spring loaded lid. This spring load lid is where i would like to have the remote.Have done some very careful measuring.I think there is a chance it will fit.
Will it be a tight squeeze? To all intents and purposes it does not appear to be.Is there any tolerance? Yes there seems to be a bit of leeway but only at the barest minimum. The spring load lid does not need to be fully opened. With lid fully released would be about 5 inches.I experimented and can easily flick the toggle spotlight switch on/off with an access of 2 inches.
So henceforth if the remote head bracket is positioned very accurately this two inches is all i need to manipulate the spotty toggle. The new radio will be a finishing touch for my mobile radio shack.Model designation of this remote head might be IC-F6063 or IC-F6061.
I gave the IC-F5061 video promotion a perusal.Check out the remote head after the japanese lady at despatch finishes.Pause the film clip on the remote.Yes this radio has me drooling something chronic. There are gentle curves on radio.Everything has sophistication including the display and buttons.Have a gander at how the japanese masters designed the speaker grille.Exquisite is an understatement. To me the aesthetics are exceptional.
Have allready anticipated some thoughts that might have circulated. What about the full number keypad model IC-F2821D ? Looked at the remote head of it within PDF brochure.Yes it does look acceptable.I am a devoted Icom enthusiast and yes the F2821D is easy on the eye.Sorry but it is not my cup of tea in the critique of aesthetics.Originally a stonemason by trade and it is my previous profession which has an influence upon what i regard as being artistic.
From a former memorial masons perspective the IC-F6061 style has perfection and their japanese craftmanship is above and beyond the call of duty.
