Have given web sites on the net a thorough perusal. From what has been observed it appears the IC-F6063 is a 25watt radio for our australian market. For the americans it has a model designation of IC-F6061 and is manufactured by icom as a 45 watt transceiver.

I am definite about purchasing and installing either the IC-F6063 or a IC-F6061.Will have to remote it in my vehicle.Yes it does look nice in one piece.Because of space restrictions the remote head install is my only option.Upon observing the promotional video i was totally surprised on the F5060 series being displayed as a remote.

It is just after the japanese lady at dispatch does her thing. They show the main body of radio separate. Then the video camera scrolls along the remote head.Whoever designed this model deserves a commendation for a meritorious effort.Everything seems to be sculptured.

There is ergonomics and harmony.Nothing clashes.Smooth flowing lines. That speaker grill shape is exquisite. The display and buttons are balanced. The japanese designers obviously have a sense of perspective. Are they being artistic? OH! Very much so.I regard their skills with total respect. This is an Icom forum and i am entitled to my point of view.

The IC-F5060 Series. "Make the smart choice!" choose ICOM.

All of my handsets and base/mobile radios are icoms. For me "ICOM" is the benchmark.

Changed plans in context of the IC-F6061. Yes, i am aware that a high power american version ICF6061 would be intriguing. It is only a hobby and not that critical.

I predominantly use the IC-208H and IC-F2010 on low or medium power settings. Even on high power i keep modulation periods at the barest minimum. Henceforth ordered the 25watt IC-F6063 that the japanese produce for our australian market.

So basically when it's installed there will be two Icom commercials in my car plus the IC-208H dual bander. The IC-208 and IC-F2010 have been left in one piece and not remote headed. Have my reasons for this and it is the way i prefer it.

Because of space restrictions the IC-F6063 will be set up as a remote.
