On my previous sedans, i used the GME AE409L antennas in 6db configuration. Currently using a medium size suv offroader vehicle.

I am pleased with how the GME AE409L antenna performs. When the conditions are suitable ,this model antenna is good at achieving long distances.

Have used the AE409L with my previously owned Icom commercial radios. The models were IC-U210T, IC-F410, IC-F610 and wide band only IC-F2010. At the moment i have a new wide/narrow band IC-F2010.

For this current F2010 the GME is in use. The receive and transmit characteristics on this AE409L 6db are quite satisfactory. Main preference for choosing this antenna, would be its performance and also the design.

Threading it secure onto my roof mount is easy. It has never seized up and unthreading to remove is quite simple. The thread has never rusted. To all intents GME obviously manufacture quality antennas and mounts.

I have noticed other people choose different brands. For my circumstances the GME AE409L 6db, in conjunction with the Icom F2010 produces the results i seek. When the IC-F6063 has been set up, it also will be operated in liason with the GME.
