repeater

Gday i have a couple of tait 2020s and want to know how i can go about turning them into a repeater...just as a project as i am trying to get the hang of how it all works and such...also for any other radios such as i com 400 pro and gme.... simoco i know you can just build a cable but i cant find any info for tait and the others any help would much appriciated
