I will submit a scenario. Have programmed my F40GT(handset) but have forgotten something.Confound it.Too late as i am already out and about.Could not be bothered driving back to home base for a re-clone.Have allocated my favourite functions to [PO] [P1] [P2] [ P3].Channel up and down buttons.Button above PTT trigger. Also the red button has a feature assigned to it. HMMM! Forgot to clone "Set Mode" to an assign key.No problem! Situation has been remedied.
To enable "SET MODE" press channel up & down buttons both together then power on with volume dial. "Set Mode" will be indicated on radio display. Now push the [PO] key and then BEEP BEEP! will be heard. Press this [PO] button to scroll through "Set Mode" parameters.Use the channel up or down buttons to adjust menu functions.

I've tried this several times, and it isn't working on my radio. What function is your P0 button set for?
Is there a place in the programming to activate this feature?
Thanks

Hello Intruder! Actually i have my scan start/stop assigned to [PO] button. The Set mode can be enabled with channel up/down buttons directly under your PTT button.I do admit that it is a pain because these buttons are so tiny.It takes quite a while to get used to because the trick is to keep them both pushed in very firm and then power on with volume dial.An annoying procedure because of the pressure that has to be applied with two fingers on both channel buttons.Anyway have found it hard to activate it that way and have assigned my 'F1 Key[Black] as the 'User set mode key' to enable "Set mode'.
This F1 key is positioned above the PTT button. The FO will be red. F2 and F3 keys are my channel up/down buttons directly under the PTT key.Channels can also be entered on your number keypad. But you can assign "User set mode" to one of the keys under radio display.PO P1 P2 or P3.Go to 'Common setting' and click so that it branches out.I am guessing you have CS-F30G Rev 1.0. Now enter 'Key & Display' "Key & Display Assign" has a menu for which functions you allocate to the 'FO'[Red] 'F1' 'F2' 'F3' [PO] [P1] [P2] [P3] keys.
The 'FO' ''F1' buttons might feel strange for Set Mode.I can imagine that one of the Programmable keys under display would be more logical as a 'User set mode' key for "Set Mode" enable. The next software menu is 'Set Mode'All adjustable functions are indicated for this section. The "User Set Mode" menu allows you to Inhibit as in deny access to parameters or they can be enabled.
