Hi, Would anyone happen to know whether the Keypad on a Genuine Tait Dtmf Mic replicates the Functions of the 0 - 9 and # - * Buttons on a T2020 ?

Basically if the Microphone is installed and the Radio Display is operating in "CH" mode ( Channel ), will operating the # + * keys cause the Radio to shift Channels up or down similar to key presses on the same Front Panel Keys ? I understand the Trunking versions of the Phillips PRM90 series operate this way with their version of the Mic Connected, when used to call specific Mobiles.

Any info would be appreciated on this Question, there appears to be plenty of them available at the moment Second hand but i am wondering why they don't seem all that popular, sales wise. It would seem to be a worthwhile addition especially if you have Multiple Channels installed and the radio is installed in a Vehicular Environment.

All replies and info gratefully Received,

Regards.

Hi Chris,

That's a big negative on that one. The T2000 DTMF mic is only for DTMF tone generation and nothing more. It does not work a a controller mic, like the new TM8200 Keypad mic.

So, if you want to use a T2000 DTMF mic on your T2020, you'll still have to use the keypad on the T2020 control head to change channel.

Cheers,
Socrates

Thanks for that Socrates, i wondered if it was too good to be true given the number of Cheap ones available at the moment and the fact that i hadn't seen them attached to any radios that are for sale.

Thank you for sharing your Knowledge,

Regards.
