Tait 2020 series 1 programming

Hi everyone,

Is anyone able to point me in the direction where I can download instructions and windows based programming software to allow me to program the Tait 2020 series 1 radio. As I am new to programming this radio is it pretty straight forward and can I program it to scan channels etc? I have the programming cable.

The series 1 T2020 can only be programmed with DOS software.
The software version required will depend on what firmware is installed in the radio. Yes, you can scan channels in banks of (15 I think) channels.

The DOS programming software is quite easy to use, except for a very early version. It probably won't run on Windows XP and you may need a slow computer processor to run it, although I have used it successfully on a P3-500. As I mentioned previously, the software verion you require will depend on the version of firmware your radio has. To find out, turn the radio off. Then hold down push to talk button on the mic and turn the power on.
The firmware version will show on the display for a couple of seconds.
If you tell me what the firmware version is, I can tell you the software version you will need.

Thanks again for all your help and advice digiteyes. I have had a look and the firmware I have got on the radio is Version 3.03. If you could help me out with what software I need and where to get it that would be great.

T2020 Firmware V3.03 is very old, (unsure just how old) so it's possible your radio may only program with SW version 1.05 You could try a later (and more common) DOS version like 2.54 This website used to have software available to financial members, but a lot of things have changed. You could try a PM to admin or email webmaster@uhfworld.com

Hi All,

I've browsed through some old information I had and it tells me that V3.03 firmware will run on T2020 DOS PGM V2.11 or later.
